First Friday Artist Showcase: Matt Clark

New!  The Subterrain & Durango Winery will be joining in on First Fridays this year- each month we will showcase a local artist, kicking it off with an artist mingle.  Come peruse great local art and meet the creator, explore Durango's only art bar and get 20% off beverages and snacks.  Hanging for the month of February is Matt Clark aka Lil Bud, our favorite multimedia mastermind.

Matt Clark is a Colorado based mixed media artist and illustrator working under the name Lil Bud Designs. His work draws exclusively from visual culture of the 1980s and earlier, pulling inspiration from vintage pulp comics, mid century advertising, ski town ephemera, river culture, and nostalgic Americana.

Blending original illustration, collage, and physical mediums, Matt reinterprets retro imagery through a modern lens embracing bold color, layered texture, and playful imperfection. Mountains, rivers, and mythic outdoor characters appear frequently throughout his work reflecting a deep connection to place and story.
